I can hardly believe that it has been 13 years since tragedy struck our nation. I vividly remember being home at the time, when my husband called to tell me to put on the television. I then watched in disbelief and horror as the events unfolded over the tv screen. Being a New Yorker, I worked at 1 WTC many years ago, and sadly lost friends who were in the building that day.
While visiting NY this summer, our family went down to Ground Zero to visit the memorial. What stands there today in the place of 1 & 2 WTC are two beautiful water features surrounded by the names of all who perished that day. Our family searched through the plaques to find the names of friends lost and to see those we didn’t know to offer our respect.
13 years later, our lost Twin Towers have been replaced by America’s Tower: One World Trade Center, formerly known as The Freedon Tower: a new symbol of strength and spirit. Today The Cinderella Company honors the heroes and heroines of 9/11 and remember all who were affected by this event.
